The difference between these three types of connections is not always well defined, and sometimes remains obscure. In everyday language, the terms are used without distinction. How to identify the soul connection you have with your partner or loved ones?

 

Soulmates

The concept of a soul mate is the result of a karmic reconnection: it is the reunion of a soul already encountered in one or more previous lives. Soulmates do not necessarily have the same degree of evolution, nor the same expectations or aspirations. It is a long or short relationship, which is more of the order of a temporary association, each person having to return to their personal path at a given moment. This association allows a spiritual evolution of each of the parties. It makes us grow, whether through trials or through harmonious exchanges.

 

Twin souls

The term twin soul refers to a deeper relationship than that of soul mates. The feeling induced by meeting our “twin soul” is that of rediscovering a part of oneself. The feeling is often that we have known each other forever. Indeed, it is a soul that we meet several times on our journey, because a tacit agreement with our twin soul is to meet at key moments, and to walk a more or less long journey with it . The twin soul is like a mirror of our soul, a sliver of the self, but it is not unique. Several twin souls can present themselves to us in our life.

Twin flames

The twin flame is an even more intimate relationship than the twin soul. It is no longer a part of oneself, but the opposite polarity of oneself. Indeed, twin flames come from the same original cell. They are truly “cosmic” twins, born from a single source, who experienced their first formation together. The connection is then very close. Meeting a twin flame is a great spiritual opportunity. However, it is not always what we expect: it can be very different from us, have different aspirations and opposite functionings. Indeed, the development of each person is completely independent, and experiences can diverge very strongly. The twin flame is a soul free from its primordial bond and even if the resonance of this past bond is a very strong experience, meeting the twin flame does not necessarily mean that we will enter into a relationship of friendship or love with this person. Each twin flame has its own path, and its own mission until the development of the soul calls again for this fusion, so that the flame reconstitutes the vibration of its original unity. The legend of twin flames is not recent, and its origins can be found in a major work of ancient Greece. This is how some Greeks thought that before the creation of humans, Zeus had divided each being into two parts which never stopped looking for their other half: “When the primitive human being had been split into two parts by this cut, each piece, missing its half, tried to unite with it again. And, passing their arms around each other, they embraced each other, because they wanted to merge into the same being, and they ended up dying of hunger and the inaction caused by their refusal of nothing do one without the other. » (Aristophanes' speech in Plato's Republic) These different legends which evoke the genesis of the human soul are metaphors which allow us to understand the experience lived by many men and women in meeting their twin flame.
